A belated welcome to the Helmsley Traditional Sweet Shop blog!

We actually launched the new website back in the middle of March but the launch week unfortunately coincided with the lockdown in the UK due to the Covid-19 pandemic! So after just a few days of selling over the internet we made the decision to close the online shop until we were sure we had a way of fulfilling orders that satisfied the current public health measures.

The actual bricks-and-mortar shop in Helmsley remains closed until further notice, but we’re pleased to say that following advice from the Federation of Small Businesses, the online shop is now open for business again!

And now we’ve started this blog!

We plan the blog to be a mix of news stories and announcements about the shop and some interesting stories about sweets! Lots of the sweeties we sell have a fascinating story behind them, and through this blog we will share some of these tales with you.
