Welcome to our website. If you continue to browse and use this website, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern Helmsley Traditional Sweet Shop’s relationship with you in relation to this website.
The term ‘Helmsley Traditional Sweet Shop” or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website whose address is 1 Barkers Yard, Helmsley, North Yorkshire, YO62 5DR. The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.
Our Guarantee
At Helmsley Traditional Sweet Shop, we are committed to providing an excellent service and believe you should be delighted with your sweets. If you have purchased our products or received them as a gift and would like to contact us with your comments, please do so by emailing shop@helmsleysweets.co.uk
The Contract between us
When you place an order, the order is only accepted once full payment of the sweets is received. Once payment has been received you will receive an order confirmation. Our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us.
In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will email you to advise you of the options.
Price
The price payable for sweets that you order are as set out on the website along with postage details.
Telephone/email orders
Give us a call on 01439 771803 and we will take your order and payment details. Your card details will not be kept on record and are destroyed after use.
Availability
If we cannot supply a product ordered, you will receive an email and have the option to wait until we can get the sweets or to cancel the order with a full refund.
Returns
There may an occasion where you may need to return a product. Sweets can be returned within 7 days of receipt to Helmsley Traditional Sweet Shop, 1 Barkers Yard, Helmsley, North Yorkshire, YO62 5DR. Please drop us an email telling us why you are returning the sweets so we can sort the problem out. You will receive a refund if there is a problem with the sweets or an error on our part.
Cancellation by yourselves
If your order has not been despatched you are free to cancel your order by email at shop@helmsleysweets.co.uk or by phone on 01439 771803. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Cancellation by us
We reserve the right to cancel the order if we have insufficient stock to deliver the products you have ordered. If this happens, we will contact you to advise when the product will be back in stock.
Delivery of Sweets
Your order will leave the shop within 2-3 working days of being ordered. If there is a delay, we will contact you. Please order with enough lead-time as we cannot be liable for any loss caused to you by late delivery. UK orders will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class post.
The sweets will be delivered to the delivery address provided. It is your responsibility to provide us with accurate delivery information. If Royal Mail or other delivery partner has attempted delivery whilst you were out, a note should have been left advising you of your parcel.
Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused through postage such as climatic conditions affecting the product. We make sure that all items are in perfect condition before they are sent to you. If your parcel does arrive in a poor condition, please contact us. We shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to refund to you the amount paid by you for the products in question.
Allergies
It is your own responsibility to ensure that any sweets available through this website meet your specific requirements and check the ingredients list for allergens – these are as listed by the manufacturer. If you have an allergy, please contact us before ordering so we can weigh the sweets up without contamination. For mixed products such as gift boxes where we cannot guarantee a specific selection of products, please contact us before ordering. We will ensure to the best of our ability to protect the sweets, but we do have nuts on the premises.

Unauthorised use or abuse of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence. Your use of this website and any dispute arising out of such use of the website is subject to the laws of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Governing law
The contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and the English courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us.
